The main focus of the Avalanche summit is sustainability and the environment. With this in mind we are asking for submissions that can be tied to the idea of “Regenera” and sustainability. What does regeneration look like? How can sustainability be visually represented?
Regenera
Nature is regenerative, by moving the way we think and work to regenerative systems we begin to emulate how nature works. There is no waste in nature, when a leaf falls from a tree it feeds the forest. For billions of years natural systems have regenerated themselves. Waste is a human invention.
About The Space & Screens
The venue for the Avalanche Summit was established by artist Josep Guinovart as a space for creation, promotion of contemporary art and a structure to permanently house Guinovart’s work. The gallery is a multi-floor cylindrical space centered around a large-scale hanging Josep Guinovart sculpture. We will have a series of four LED Walls that are 3m x 3m constructed throughout the space. Screens will display digital artworks curated by House of Attention, and act as discoverable signposts driving guests upwards. In addition there will be smaller secondary screens that will showcase interactive and reactive artwork. All screens will lead to an NFT photo booth at the top floor of the gallery where guests will be able to capture and create a unique NFT minted on the Avalanche blockchain and delivered directly to participants via email.

About Josep Guinovart
The son of a house painter, Guinovart started painting at a young age. Much of his childhood was spent in a small country cabin in the village of Agramunt where he lived during the Civil War (1937–1938). He developed a direct relationship to nature, the animals and the fields surrounding the cabin that would inform his work as an abstract expressionist painter. Guinovart’s work is loosely defined as large scale work, constructed with a wide range of material, including organic substances like eggshells, leaves, earth, burnt wood, insects and straw. The artist was also informed by a close relationship to the cities of Barcelona and Agramunt.
